Annika Line Trost might be best recognised for her exploits with electro pop outfit Cobra Killer, but the Berlin based artist's self-produced 2nd solo album Trust Me certainly deserves some acknowledgment.
Released on Bronzerat Records and delivered in three different languages, Trust Me is an ambitious and massively experimental album with incredibly raw production values. The foundations are built on soulful 50's/60's rhythms, contemporary electro arrangements and a psychedelic-induced vocal. It's the sound of two worlds colliding, yet strangely, it actually works.
Some people may argue that Trust Me lacks a truly killer punch, but there can be no doubting that it's a very intriguing album and a real master-class in musical originality.
