The Leeds Festival 2009 line up was announced this evening and it was Arctic Monkeys that were revealed first. The Sheffield band are to headline the festival on Friday 28th August.

Radiohead will headline on the Saturday and the festival will be closed on the Sunday night by Kings of Leon.

Supporting Arctic Monkeys on the Friday are Prodigy, Maximo Park, Ian Brown, The Courteeners, Enter Shikari and Eagles Of Death Metal.

Music fans watching the Main Stage on the Saturday will also see Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend and Brand New.

On the Sunday are Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs, with the line up completed by Placebo, Fall Out Boy, Deftones and Funeral For A Friend.
