By Marmaduke Duke
Marmaduke Duke release single 'Rubber Lover' before their new album 'Duke Pandemonium' hits the shelves next month. The musical love child of The Atmosphere and The Dragon (two chaps better known as Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro and JP of Sucioperro) follows up March's single release 'Kid Gloves' and samples a Billy Joel classic!
A very, very short song from The Duke, yet it pulls you right in. A club track most definitely, one that everyone will be singing along to this summer methinks, me-hopes. I only wish it was a minute or so longer, as at less than two minutes, it does indeed do the age old 'leave them wanting more.' The lyrics are serious yet humorous (a tagline I'd quite happily pencil across the forehead of this band) and the meaty beats of the sound not only invites, but encourages dancing and debauchery. It's dirty pop for the masses, and should be served with a wedge of lime and some salt.
