Juxtaposition
Live at Leeds Metropolitan University on Sunday, 23rd February 2003
Juxtaposition come to the stage with the discomfort most bands show. However, after a frantic opening, they come to life. The swirling rhythm guitar creates a wall of noise, which is the perfect backdrop for the melodic arpeggios and gentle vocals.
The kind of music that makes you feel slightly on edge through its gentle playfulness combined with aggressive metal stabs. Like playing with a Rottweiler, you know that power lurks below the serene surface.
Later tracks continue the swirling, interspersed with stabs of metal riffing.
The band perform well and look good, rocking out without cliché's and looking genuinely earnest. 8/10.
