By Manchester Orchestra
'Shake It Out' is the third single to be released from Manchester Orchestra's second studio album.
Frontman Andy Hull's restless alternating between yelpy, exaggerated, and hoarse vocals sees him come over like a cross between gravel-throated Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil, and pre-'Only By The Night' era Kings Of Leon.
Hitching, angular riffs; twangy chords and nimble drum-work combine in verses awash with bone-popping grooves. The choruses meanwhile, bring a swaggering, hard-rock sensibility to the mix, which carries over into a pummelling bridge section topped off with ragged, emotional vocals.
A surefire hit with existing fans and, judging from their passing similarity to Biffy Clyro, their November support slots with the Scottish three-piece will earn them a whole new legion of converts.
