'Overcome' is out first taster of Creed's forthcoming 'Full Circle' album, their first release since 2004's 'Greatest Hits' compilation and their first studio album since 2001's 'Weathered.'

'Overcome' is swaggering, melodic rock, trimmed in glimmering chords and shot through with Scott Stapp's gravel-throated but melodic vocal lines. The foot-stamping choruses are bursting with roof-raising vocals that demand you sing along, while the roughened texture of Stapp's voice prevents 'Overcome' from sounding too anthemic-rock-by-numbers.

Melodic rock may be a maligned genre - calling to mind Nickelback, Theory of A Deadman and modern-day Papa Roach - but this in instantly likeable hard-rock, wrapped up in a shiny, studio production, and it'll undoubtedly sell by the boatloads, whilst luring in a few people who usually like their rock a little nastier.
