Plumpton Presents, in association with Beach Break Live, are organising a Battle of the Bands competition in Leeds and are looking for local bands and solo musicians to take part.

The Battle Of Plumpton is an opportunity for unsigned Leeds based bands and artists to compete for a host of great prizes. The winning band will record a track with established Leeds producer James Kenosha; have that track included on a limited edition compilation EP; and will win a slot at Beach Break Live 2010, a music festival for 17,500 students that was recently voted Best Small UK Festival at the UK National Festival Awards.

The preliminary open heats for The Battle Of Plumpton will be held on Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th January at Oporto, with the Final Heat taking place on Wednesday 3rd February.

The compilation EP launch will take place on Wednesday 10th March and Thursday 11th March.

If you are a Leeds-based band and are interested in entering The Battle Of Plumpton, you should submit a MySpace URL or no more than 2 tracks, a brief biography and press shot photo to oporto [ at ] plumptonpresents.com.

The closing date for applications is Friday 8th January 2010.

Good luck from Leeds Music Scene to everyone that enters!
