Defenestration
Live at Leeds Festival 2001 on Sunday, 26th August 2001
Named after the act of chucking things out of windows and with an average age of 19, these Kerrang! faves certainly know how to scream a tent down. Lead singer Gen, with amazing peroxide and pink hair, struts her stuff out front. She' s got an incredible voice, which really lets rip over every chorus, similar to Tarri B of My Ruin. Under her thunderous utterances the rest of the band - two guitars, bass and drums - turn out riffs a la Willhaven along with chugging bass. The whole thing is hugely tuneful and the punters love it. One of the crowd even manages to crowd surf to the front and clamber on stage with Gen, giving her a kiss as she is escorted off, and a bog roll is hurled between stage and crowd throughout. The band part with 'Till the Cows', which has bass to rattle your rib cage and pull your socks off. If you're into this sort of stuff, catch 'em before they're huge!
