By You Me At Six
You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi has a very similar vocal technique to Paramore's Hayley Williams. It's that shouty-but-melodic style that was practically made for hollering out those big, foot-stamping, teeny-bopper choruses and, luckily, 'Underdog' provides just such a chorus.
You Me At Six recently supported Paramore on their UK arena tour, and on the strength of this single they must have got every pop-punker in the audience punching the air and bopping ecstatically along. 'Underdog' is a lethal mix of slicky-shiny pop production, buoyant pop-punk energy and sneery teenage hormones. The perfect, polite-punk-with-pop-hooks anthem for the Paramore generation.
