Recently reformed rockers Creed love a good cliche. So much so, in fact, that they've written a song with a big, radio-rock chorus where gravelly-voiced frontman Scott Alan Stapp hollers "I feel it's gonna rain like this for days / so let it rain down and wash everything away / I hope that tomorrow the sun will shine." As if that wasn't enough, they've named this song about rain, um, 'Rain.'
Perfect fodder for fans of Nickelback and Theory Of A Deadman, 'Rain' is a melodic mock-rock singalong, packed with ingenious vocal hooks that'll make this a guilty pleasure for those who really should know better. Shamelessly big, brash and cheesy, one listen and you'll find yourself coming away singing about the rain "falling down / washing away my yesterdays" - and hoping no-one overhears you.
