Junior Senior

Live at Cockpit on Friday, 2nd May 2003

No support bands for this gig. The tickets stated "note early gig". And Junior Senior weren't on stage till past nine. So there was a lot of hanging round to be done. No worries, resident DJ's were on hand to get the party going.

It is clear from the crowd here tonight that Junior Senior appeal to a vast audience. No "dress code" as such, other than Senior-like visors of course. From the moment these guys appear on stage they make it obvious that they are here to have fun. They are loud and lively. They like nothing more than interacting with their crowd.

Before we know it, we are all clapping along to songs such as "Go Junior, Go Senior" (which is pretty self-explanatory) and "Shake Your Coconuts" (ditto).

The crowd absorbs the band's infinite energy. And you're dancing, no matter if you were expecting dance, pop or rock orientated music.

Their psychedelic version of "Twist and Shout" is indescribable, and of course their almighty anthem "Move Your Feet" sent the crowd wild. This wasn't your average gig. This was an experience. If you ever see Junior Senior and you don't walk away with a smile on your face, you're beyond help.
