Peter Pan

By Teenagersintokyo

Sydney based quintet Teenagersintokyo occupy the halfway point between the dreamy electro-pop of Metric and the spine-tingling gothic-pop-with-added-synths of The Birthday Massacre.

Frontwoman Samantha Lim's melodic vocals are one step away from a plaintive wail, which brings a shade of darkness to the single-minded, electro-lite drive of the music. Musically, 'Peter Pan' is far too repetitive and one-dimensional to make for a truly memorable track, but a few repeat listens, and Lim's ragged lilt will seep quietly into your grey matter. A flat track, partially redeemed by intriguing vocals. A bit of extra musical texture, and this could have been a much stronger song.
