Flagships
By The Strange Death of Liberal England
With a band name that you wouldn't forget in a hurry, you hope the same can be said for The Strange Death of Liberal England's music. On this occasion, luckily, this seems to be the case.
Fresh from supporting Editors on their UK Tour, The Strange Death Of Liberal England's 'Flagships' echoes this style of music; distorted guitars, bass drums, strong vocals, all building up to the melodic chorus. For a relatively new band, it's an extremely well executed single. By the halfway point, you feel the urge to tap your foot, or nod your head in time to the track, whilst the end of the song climaxes in a series of repetitive chanting. 'Flagships' is a single that's more than worthy of launching the Portsmouth band into the eyes of the indie rock/folk-loving public.
