The debut solo outing from LostBoy! (aka Jim Kerr) is sassy pop-rock with a chorus where Kerr/LostBoy! performs elastic vocal gymnastics that'll have 'Shadowland' dancing around your skull for days on end. Jangly, high-octane pop-rock with a bubblegum chorus where the guitars shake it in perfect unison with Kerr's impossible-to-resist vocals. It's so good, you'll find yourself continuing to sing the chorus, even during the instrumental break.
And Kerr doesn't let up: the synth-packed, one-hundred-miles-an-hour 'Refugee' B-side boasts another chewy-centred chorus. An absolute hoot to listen to, from the jet-fuelled synths of the opening moments, to the snappy vocals of the chorus, right through to the glorious sprawl of the synth, vocal and guitar-crammed end-section.
Jim Kerr's 'Shadowland' single is unashamedly good fun. The only song with the power to shift 'Shadowland's chorus from your cranium, is 'Refugee.' A single to get you very excited about Jim Kerr's forthcoming album.
