Jesus Stole My Girlfriend
By Violent Soho
Grunge gets quirky with the twisted stomp of Violent Soho's 'Jesus Stole My Girlfriend.'
Drenched with slurpy bass, 'Jesus Stole My Girlfriend' periodically loses the plot with a swirl of surreal, kooky riffing before all hell breaks lose for the bloodthirsty metal crunch of the chorus. As Violent Soho ricochet between extremes, it'd be easy for the music to swallow the vocals whole. Thankfully, in Luke Boerdam, Violent Soho have a frontman who can cram an array of deranged facial expressions into his voice. He clearly revels in slobbering and squealing his way through 'Jesus Stole My Girlfriend,' always sounding just as deranged as those riffs. Grunge shouldn't be this much fun.
