Manchester indie label Uglyman Music, original home to Elbow and I Am Kloot, has opened a Leeds office.

Over the last 2 years the company has grown on the back of its commercial successes and this year has opened in-house publishing and music promotion companies. Located in the Arts-Quarter of the city centre on St Peters Square, the Leeds office will be the main operational headquarters of the label and will also coordinate all A&R and PR activities.

This year has seen the label's profile increase further with the release of the acclaimed Silverman and Bone Box albums in June. Two new acts are currently recording and all artists are touring in the busy run up to Christmas. Additionally, the label is looking to establish a strong presence in the growing music scene of Leeds - a city once home to all three company directors.

For the short term however, the label's focus centres back on Manchester and 'In The City' - the UK Music Industry's annual conference, where Uglyman have their own showcase night featuring Silverman, Bone Box and new signing, Leeds based Johnson House. The showcase takes place at 42nd Street located on Bootle Rd, Manchester on Sunday 15th September. Doors 8pm.
