By Lauren Zettler
An emotionally well delivered EP from one of New York City's indie-acoustic, internet-embracing bourgeois; Lauren Zettler doesn't fail in creating a record that matches the grace of its predecessor, 'Call Me Out'.
'On Your Back Porch' incorporates a quaint romance-revivalism ('Small Town Love') into an affectionate and yearning sound ('I Don't Blame You'). The persona of the record seems to reflect Zettler's contemplative attitude with its thoughtful lyrics and, delightfully melancholic melodies. However, it still manages not to disappoint all those accoustomed to and inspired by Lauren's 'go and get it' philosophy with chirpy tunes such as 'Shapes'.
This charming, stirring delight is an organic and original example of its artisan musician's creative drive. Being home-made, hand-pressed and packaged with Lauren Zettler love it's well worth the buy.
With recording for her next project in the works, Lauren Zettler hits the Royal Park Cellars on the 3rd March for her first ever UK tour.
