By The Blackout
As the dulcet tones ring out and the opening chords kick in, you know this track is set to have you moshing hard with fists pumping to the electric sounds of the Merthyr boys.
The underlying lyrics and loud guitars help NBYS explode into a brilliant rock anthem. Already a live favourite, after The Blackout's sold out UK tour in April, the song emanates the band's non beliefs of religion and the thoughts of a higher being, which is selfish in their ways. These are pretty deep lyrics when scrutinised. None the less, when the screams kick in, the message is clear, The Blackout are not giving up and are here to make 2011 theirs.
It wouldn't be my first choice of follow up single to 'Higher And Higher,' due to the more serious feeling through NBYS. However this choice really works for the band, and shows their variation on the new album, aptly named "Hope".
After having just announced another UK tour, this time including Leeds (woo hoo), it is set to be The Blackout's biggest tour to date, and is sure to catapult them firmly into the rock stratosphere.
'Never By Your Side' is the sort of song that will leave you feeling elated and full of energy, after bouncing along to it. The lyrics and fierce guitar riffs will be placed in your head for days to come.
This is a glorious effort from The Blackout on this full of charisma song.
