By Hyro da Hero
'Birth. School. Work. Death' is a straight to the point album title, from the Houston born rapper, Hyro Da Hero. The album title fits Hyro's music perfectly. With hard hitting lyrics that come at you like a bunch to the gut, Hyro is set to change music for the better in 2011.
His rap spitting skills, mixed with heavy guitars and rock heaviness is something fresh and alternative for music, and is definitely going to grab people's attention.
Hyro Da hero is sure of himself, sure of the fact people will want to hear and love his music. Judging by the offerings on his album, he is right. Stand out tracks include 'Sleeping Giants,' a heavy guitar fuelled song, with lyrics to match and the live favourite 'Beam Me Scotty,' which is a loud and bouncy song, with a chorus that has every member of an unsuspecting crowd joining in by the end.
His previous mix tapes, such as 'belo horizonte' were more of a typical rappers' album, with rapping over famous rock songs, like Refused. However with his debut offering Hyro has brought a together a band, which gives the record more rock characteristics and help him give the explosive album he needed. The band is made up of ex At The Drive In guitarist Paul Hinojos and, Cody Votolato from Blood Brothers as well as other great members who give an enigmatic performance.
This album will set the pace for a great summer soundtrack , and make sure Hyro Da Hero will be around for a long time to come. And as the man says himself "Hyro is coming to change music." He definitely is, and this rap/ rock sensation is here to give real, intelligent music to the masses.
