This is the first full Album from the São Paulo based band Labirinto. Formed in 2003, they have previously released 4 E's. They produce well executed instrumental ambient, post-rock.

If you are looking for a style reference, Godspeed You! Black Emperor is the one that comes closest in my opinion. They share similar instrumentation; multiple guitar, bass and drums with violins; though Labirinto depend less on 'found-sound' and phrase sequencers to produce their sonic textures. The playing is excellent, each track being interesting with constantly changing themes, tempo and styles. There are 6 tracks coming in at 70 minutes of music.

The 'Problem' for me with this album, is the fact there is no journey through it, no start, beginning or end, just a collection of 6 unrelated, albeit excellent, tracks. The lack of voice did make it difficult for me. Each track has its own integral light and shade, but there is no overt differentiation between the tracks, far too similar for me. I will listen to the tracks again in random mode with other types of music, but not as an album.
