Catchy Pop-Folk Singer/Songwriter from Yorkshire U.K
Ben is one of the U.K's new breed of folk artists. He has been busy since debuting as a solo artist in 2010. He has played around 100 gigs across England and Scotland, supporting respected UK acoustic artists Edwina Hayes, Ryan Spendlove, and Ben Marwood.
2011 sees Ben's music take a slightly different direction, bringing more folk influences into his repertoire. His new E.P 'Painted By Numbers' which is an acoustic affair featuring 4 tracks of stripped down organic sound featuring special guest Edwina Hayes, peaked at number 39 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart during the release week.
His song 'The Only One' is featured on the benefit compilation 'Unity' by Engineer Records which features mainstream acts such as 'The Gaslight Anthem' 'Fightstar', 'Funeral For a Friend' and 'Luke Pickett'.
His debut music video 'Close Your Eyes' has been on regular rotation on TV when it was accepted for the playlist on Lava TV on Sky Digital.
He self produced and independently released his debut 10 track album "Humble Beginnings" as well as playing all the instruments on the limited edition pressing of 1000 CDs which has had several critically acclaimed reviews from respected publications.
Ben was invited by Alan Raw to play a live acoustic session on BBC Radio Humberside as well as having his album tracks played regularly and recently made it onto the featured undiscovered artist of the week on Yorkshire Coast Radio.
Ben is influenced from a wide range of music such as The Beatles, Frank Turner, Elvis Costello, Green Day, The Ataris. Taking elements from Pop, Rock and Folk. he blends together a catchy, original sound.
