Save Your Breath

Live at Slam Dunk 2012 on Saturday, 26th May 2012

Save Your Breath are one of those bands that instantly make you love life and smile along with their upbeat melodies and fun pop punk anthems.

Coming onto the stage at Slam Dunk there is a change in the band members, but it doesn't affect the lad's one bit, as they launch into a set list of songs that contains a mixture of hits from last year's album Vices and their EP.

Jumping up and down in true pop punk style, SYB get the intimate room of the Macbeth Stage audience jumping in unison with them. The crowd are enjoying every second of this South Wales band.

There must be something special in the South Wales water, as there are some great bands still emerging from the Valleys, and this is one of the brilliant ones I have had the pleasure of seeing over the years. Every time SYB is in town, I manage to catch them at their shows, and enjoy the delightfully energetic performance.

The set bounces on, as does the suspense, to see whether Sean Smith of The Blackout will join the guys on stage for their single "Stay Young" that he appeared as a guest on.

SYB announce their penultimate song and high flying kicks and bouncing tunes ring out, with the crowd singing the words right back at them.

Stay Young begins, as their final song in the short but impressive set. At the first chorus, a flash of purple goes past the stage, and out appears Sean Smith. Smiling and jumping around on stage, everyone in the room goes mental for the final song and connects with the lyrics in the song.

An excellent performance from Save Your Breath, who should be bigger than they actual are, and this coming from a girl who isn't keen on pop punk!
