She Is The Wave
By Doldrums
After hearing 'Egypt' which released earlier this year, I grew to adore the sound of Doldrums, so when I heard 'She is the wave' I was expecting something smooth and relaxing. Instead, I was hit with a...odd sound (which wasn't very relaxing at all) which I didn't really get. However I Liked Doldrums and I've listened to 'Egypt' to death...So I gave it a few more days and listened again. This time I got it. It's clear Doldrums is experimenting with sounds - well if you were him why would you not?
Acquiring the beat from Guy Dallas - a fellow Toronto based noise musician turned hi-fi house producer, it made sense and I now love this track. I know that might sound odd seen as though I said I didn't really get it at first, but I'd listened to it with a more open minded view (which I should have done at the beginning.)
The 22 year old is guiding you through his world of music, of ambient House and poly-pop electronic mixed into weird, electronic mash-ups which excite, leaving you ravenous for more.
