The six Futuresound 2013 winners were announced today after completion of the final heat on Thursday night.

Sixty Futuresound hopefuls were confirmed earlier this summer and they have been competing this summer for a slot at the annual Reading and Leeds Festivals.

The overall winner of Futuresound 2013 were Battle Lines, who will appear on the NME / Radio One Stage.

The other five winning bands are Witch Hunt, The Grand, The Glass Caves, City of Lights and Modo Stare. All five will play on the BBC Introducing Stage at both Reading and Leeds sites.

Ben at Futuresound said, "We're really excited about this crop of bands, they all stepped up to the plate and blew audiences and judges away with their performances, all in turn making the stage, and the heat, their own; I urge you to go listen to them all.

A massive thanks to all who entered, it was a really strong competition this year that has shown just how powerful the Leeds and West Yorkshire music scene is once again. And huge congrats to those who have gone through."

Congratulations also from Leeds Music Scene to all six bands, who we look forward to seeing this August at Leeds Festival. They join fellow local band King No-One who were also confirmed this week after winning the Centre Stage 2013 competition.
