The 21 bands set to appear in the heats for Martin House Children's Hospice's prestigious music competition for young, Yorkshire bands and musicians - Centre Stage 2014 - were confirmed earlier today.

Now into its fifth year, Centre Stage 2014 offers a top prize of performing at both sites of the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2014, plus a music video shot by Sodium.

Three nights of heats, 22nd, 23rd and 24th April at the Belgrave Music Hall, will decide the finalists who will compete in the Centre Stage 2014 Final at the O2 Academy Leeds on 23rd July.

Line ups are in no particular running order.

Special guests on the nights are 2013 winners King No-One, who will play live on the Tuesday and Wednesday, and The Mexanines who play on the Thursday.

The listed finalists have all committed to undertake fundraising ventures and raise vital funds for Martin House Children's Hospice: to care for children and young adults, with life limiting illnesses. The perfect example of young people helping young people.

The Centre Stage competition has now hit the big £150,000 mark in terms of funds raised, and all of this has been channelled directly into the care of the children and their families at Martin House Children's Hospice.
