Slam Dunk Festival has picked up the Kerrang! Award for Best Festival once again, having won the Best Festival award in 2014 too.

At a star-studded ceremony featuring Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford and All Time Low, the awards were hosted by Andrew WK and Benji Webbe from Skindred.

Slam Dunk once again beat off stiff competition from Download Festival, Sonisphere, Leeds and Reading and Bloodstock.

The bold move to take over Millennium Square, Leeds Beckett University, O2 Academy and the surrounding areas with a huge after show party at the Arena really paid off. Moving from their humble beginnings at Leeds University Students Union to a full scale 12,000 capacity festival is a real testament to the hard work the team have put in over the years.

"The last year has been a whirlwind for Slam Dunk. We have set the bar so high now and taking the award for the second year running is really exciting. I'd like to thank the whole festival team, what we have achieved with such a small team is amazing, also the bands and most importantly all the festival goers. Still stunned to win this prestigious award two years in a row." said Ben Ray, Festival Manager.
