Four Leeds rock bands will be taking to the stage in support of the One World Beat Global Music Festival at Josephs Well on March 19th. The event in Leeds is one of hundreds of live music events happening worldwide over a 3-day period.

The One World Beat Global Music Festival provides a platform for musicians of all genres to unite and convey a message of hope through their music. Proceeds from the Leeds event will go directly to charities working with AIDS sufferers worldwide.

Sharing the billing will be Leeds' own Instant Species, The Scaramanga Six and Mama Scuba along with Halifax punk rockers Buen Chico. A special CD will be on sale on the night featuring tracks from all bands.

Local organiser Bob Spencer said, "We thought it would be a great opportunity to focus our collective efforts on raising some cash for a worthwhile cause whilst promoting the ever growing Leeds music scene."

"So much music has been written about changing the world. One World Beat is a way to do more than just sing about making a difference" commented Andy Treichler, founder of One World.
