It has to be said, I like this. A lot. The former Bingo boys have written an appealing, melody driven guitar pop CD under their new guise Be; a CD that fits nicely into a genre classification of classic indie pop with a clear dance undertone.

"Monkey's Finger" feels like a return to the late 80s / early 90s Northern town sound with a dance beat dominating the bass and drums, overlaid with a prominent vocal line - leaving the guitars in an important, but more background, role. The reverse is true in the chorus, with a distorted effects-driven guitar, though it's not spoilt by being over the top, and an energetic vocal delivery just where it needs it.

Gareth Dickinson shows throughout the EP that he posses a significant vocal quality, showcasing a wide vocal-range with relative ease. Overall result? Well clearly the CD had the desired effect - I want to hear more. Much more.
