Since returning with their new album 12 Memories, Travis seem to have been very quiet. At one stage they were never off our TVs but now they are releasing singles without anyone even seeming to care.
Love Will Come Through is the most impressive song I've heard from Travis so far but I've never really been impressed by the band in recent years. Fran's whispering vocals are carried on a wave of melodic banjos similar to those heard on 2001's Sing. The chorus is catchy enough but is then left by the wayside and soon forgotten. Just like the majority of tracks by the band, they never really seem to go anywhere and instead are just stuck in a continuous loop.
It is better than any offering I've heard from the other two big British indie bands i.e Oasis and Sterephonics but these days that isn't really saying much. For Travis fans this will be a welcomed addition to the ever expanding catalogue of songs. For the rest of us it will just be a distant memory.
