Well said Mr DeForge. The idea that this gimp out of razorlight is some song writing genius is pie in the sky. Over rated garbage

Neils Children take the stage and fire into their opening number. Alarm bells start ringing immediately. Not alarm bells in fact but school bells. It's like watching the school 6th Form band again. You know, the cool kid who reckoned he could sing but no-one had the balls to tell him otherwise. The band deliver some sort of punk dirge that I am sure they think makes them sound like The Sex Pistols or The Clash. It doesn't. It's not particularly badly played but the vocals are unintelligible and it's just pretty boring. You've heard this a million times and heard it done a million times better. Alas the band are as poor as their name.
The room is hot and sweaty, full to bursting with lots of pretty ladies sweating off the layers of thick make up and tottering on their high heels just trying to get a glimpse of Johnny Borrell. This is the man who has declared himself the greatest songwriter of his generation. That's a bold statement to make by anyone's standards. On tonight's evidence I'd suggest that Mr Borrell isn't even the best songwriter in his street. Sure there are some decent moments here but there's nothing to really suggest Razorlight are worthy of all the whoops and high pitched screams that follow each song. It's pop rock that just washes over you without leaving any lasting stain. Most people in the venue tonight don't look as though they would agree with me but I struggle to find just what is so special about this band. Maybe it's the hype, maybe it's that they have a handsome singer. You'll find bands better than this in any of your local venues though, I guess someone has to get lucky. Razorlight are not a bad band and they create a decent amount of energy but when someone declares themselves as being the new Messiah in songwriting terms then you expect them to have the dick to go with their balls and I leave feeling less than satisfied and just a little bit amused.

i can't believe the criticism that people have been giving to Neils Children.I myself went to see them supporting Razorlight and thought that they played a very entertaining set and had a very unique sound to them. They are not an imitation but rather an evolution of punk combining catchy bass lines with simple guitar parts with added crazy pedals. Lets face it they look the part as well, but what I want to say is that nc were as good as razorlight if not better, and after buying both their 7" singles, im convinced they are not deserving of the criticsm some people have given.
