Mr Brightside

By The Killers

Some songs are just ace. This is one of them. It just makes you feel good and want to sing and dance along. You can't really quantify it in words, you have to hear it to appreciate just how pleasant an experience this song is. The chord change for the pre-chorus is just perfect, it makes you want to wrench your heart from your chest and join in "and she's touching his chest now, he takes off her dress now, it's killing me". The Killers have lyrics as well as tunes and this tale of jealousy burning up inside and letting one's imagination take over adds depth and quality to a high class serving of disco rock. It's probably a bit more accessible than previous single "Somebody Told Me" and should serve well to raise The Killers' flag higher. Throw your class A Columbian out of the window because only music like this can make you feel this good.

top marks. i remember drunkenly typing in my phone at the cockpit on my 21st birthday "i'm 21, play mr brightside!" then rambling about how i actually was mr brightside on the way home. great song, top review.

Great song but has anyone else started singing - "Because I'm Norman Whiteside" in the chorus? Try it - you might prefer it.

Damn you Rich, that's gonna stick in my head now! At least he was a mighty Toffee!

Gimme a while and I'll make the whole song about Everton.

Right here you go.....a tribute to Everton Football Club to the tune of The Killers' Mr Brightside.

Moyesie's picking the team, and their feeling just fine
Gonna have three more points, by the end of full time
Rooney's scoring the goals, just like old Dixie Dean
Pistone makes a mistake but Martyn's making a save now
Gravesen's being brave now
Like midfields of old

Peter Reid, passing the ball to Adrian Heath
I hope Lineker plays the ball out wide....
Cos I'm Norman Whiteside!!!

Knocks it back to Ratcliffe's feet, plays it up to Sharpy
I shout out loud for the ball, I'm not sure if he hears me
I hope Lineker plays the ball out wide....
Cos I'm Norman Whiteside!!!

Hmmm, I'd like to think so but we're only a quarter Toffee!

The rest of us comprises:
1/4 Leeds
1/4 Sheff Wed
1/4 Scum

It's Man U. But we'll let Chachi off cos he is actually from Manchester and he is the black sheep of his family for not supporting City.
