Autumn Lee

By Andy Bodean and the Bottom Boys

One of the most dubious band names for some time coming at you all the way from the USA. This is standard 12 bar blues sung with distorted Strokes wannabe vocals. It does have a nice rough and ready feel to it but it's not particularly exciting or inventive. The bass line has been used a million times already, so ok you're kinda restricted with 12 bar blues but a little bit of invention would have been nice. There's a little pre-chorus to break things up but it's sadly not enough to save this song. The kerrrazy howl at the end of the song just adds to the whole 'straight outta the box' feel to this song. B-side 'So Glad Your Mine' will probably appeal to Franz Ferdinand lovers and it has those funny Strokes vocals again. Overall though it's just pretty dull.
