By My Chemical Romance
The inner movie style sleeve of this album describes it as "The story of a Man. A Woman. And the corpses of a thousand evil men..." This is punk rock with a dark side and ever present gothic undertones with passionate and often anguished lyrics focusing around death and heartache ("say goodnight to the heart you break and all the cyanide you drank..." from 'To The End').
Although some of the songs sound like they've lost that raw edge (I get the impression this band would sound a lot better live) and you could find yourself thinking "haven't I heard this somewhere before?", from the radio friendly but just punk enough to be cool 'Give 'Em Hell Kid', the aching bitterness of 'The Ghost Of You' to 'Thank You For The Venom' which showcases a more metal side to the band, this is an album full of undeniably catchy songs which will stick in your head for days. 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge' is sure to increase the hype surrounding My Chemical Romance.
