Having heard this EP yesterday, I must agree, absolute cheese-pop-funk genius. More please
Ever since the Red Hot Chilli Peppers changed direction to middle of the road crap-pop there has been a huge hole in the world of funk rock screaming for someone to fill the void. Who would have ever thought that the potential saviours would hail from the sunny towns of Halifax and Bradford? Yes that's right. I said Bradford.
Each track is packed to the rafters with delicious 70's style guitar which posses such a groove that you'd be forgiven for thinking you were either at a disco or watching a porn film on Channel 5 starring Shannon Tweed.
This is the kind of music that would not only get the usual scruffy indie kid up on the dance floor but he'd probably be joined by Huggy Bear from Starsky and Hutch. Together they would dance all night long to this Saturday Night Fever meets explosive rock soundtrack.
The Modeliste EP has 4 tracks that come with a certificate of coolness and a guarantee that you'll be shaking your ass all night long. Their disco fuelled rock is dripping with wah wah pedals and rip roaring bass solos. Not forgetting the odd moment of hands in the air clapping.
Funk rock may have just found its new heroes.
