Manifesto EP

By Drinkme

Displaying their influences like a BUMWARS tattoo in BIG BOLD letters on their forehead, this EP is a real call to arms for punk-funk fans everywhere.

Blending Elastica's cascading bass lines and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' art-funk yelpings, this five track EP fairly rattles along. Opener "Manifesto" begins with choppy synth noises and a bouncy, Haribo high guitar solo before the cockernee vocals entice you in, weird stalker lyrics and all.

Sadly "Addicted" sounds like the worst bits of the 90's rehashed in the microwave but the impossibly titled "DYWGH" restores the balance, its grumbling bass and falsetto vocals throwing a fizzing punk-funk spanner into the works. "Way to surrender" finishes things nicely, the angular guitar and razor sharp vocals giving their good time manifesto real meaning and purpose. Join up or lose out.
