This is a review of "Social Skills" recorded by 0800 Ragu. The review was written by Richard Garnett in 2005.

In their own words "a group of four 17 year olds from Huddersfield" and bearing all the trademarks of youth combined with guitars and adrenaline. Embrace the concept of four mates leaping around in a bedroom trying to sound like their heroes as that is how so many great bands start. However do not get too excited about the product coming out from these early sessions - steeped in energy and passion but more emulation than imagination. Still the odd nice guitar break and song structure playfulness keep it just above the "average" threshold - like the Pavement-esque intro to "Let's Go For A Pint". But painful lyrics and melodies, as awkward in their clothes as the gangly limbs of the band members are a matter of course. Given time to develop it will all fit a lot better.
