By New Jack Swing
Take some clunky white man's crusty-funk (the type that wears orange jeans and a green jumper full of holes) and disguise it by calling it "Progressive Groove Rock" and get a black front man with a great voice to carry the show. He does but it doesn't hide a five song collection of fundamentally flat funk noodling with out so much as one hook.
New Jack Swing are clearly having a "grooving" time and occasionally conjure up a Skunk Anansie lite feel or Jamiraqui with a guest slot from Slash... not working on paper is it? It's all amiable and danceable and up-beatable but lacking one good song to inspire. In fact the most interesting thing is the fact that all the song titles have 3 words... probably speaks volumes.
