Hailing from Los Angeles and yet taking influences from such UK stalwarts as the The Kinks, Buzzcocks and The Jam. What ever next? Rock & roll exchange programs? Bands from Rochdale that sound like Linkin Park? ... oh hang on.
Four proficient tracks of mod guitar chopping but lacking any real punch, hook or dynamics. In fact the music itself namechecks all of the aforementioned bands seemingly picking a verse from The Jam, a bridge from Supergrass and a Buzzcocks chorus. Despite capturing a very British sound, the effect sadly is not a pleasing retro rock-out, but something rather derivative, like a covers band in a blender. There's plenty of energy and obvious pleasure in the band's playing but out of all four tracks there is not one real leader. Perhaps "Nicotine" just scrapes through with the small mercy of having a memorable guitar line.
