The very best in Leeds’ new musical talent are joining forces for ‘Beats Injustice’, the first in a series of live music events in aid of Amnesty International, and is expected to raise over £2,000 for the cause.

Leeds’ finest hip-hop DJ and last year’s DMC finalist, Mike L, will headline the event hosted at The Met Bar, Leeds Metropolitan University on Saturday 30th April.

With their debut EP set for release with Parlophone, Leeds band Stateless will perform an energetic and unique set. Other local acts performing on the night include the city’s most popular hip-hop collective, First Word Sound System, live electronica from Slip, and a DJ set from Stateless’ very own Kid Kanevil.

Lauren Johns, Media Officer for Amnesty International’s Leeds Group, said; “It’s really great to bring together so many of the city’s latest talents. There’s a really exciting scene happening in Leeds at the minute, and it’s great to be able to tap into that energy to raise money and awareness for human rights across the world.

"Thanks to Leeds Met, the full £5 ticket price will go to Amnesty. We hope to raise over £2,000 on the night and go on to make Beats Injustice a regular event."
