By The Conway Story
Based in London but with a multi-national line up ranging from Chile to Canada, The Conway Story, named after 17th Century Philosopher Anne Conway, release their third and final single, 'Ghostwriter', before embarking on the recording of their debut album later this year.
Working this time with producer Al Stone, who has previously worked with the likes of Jamiroquai and Turin Brakes, 'Ghostwriter' is a perfect summer Sunday afternoon track with rocky but laidback riffs, easy melodies and chilled out vocals with an overall uplifting feel. Great for getting rid of that end of the weekend hangover although it risks wandering into background music territory in places. Track two, 'Hopeless With Our Hands' is a delicate, piano based ballad with subtle harmonies perfectly showcasing the heart wrenching emotion in vocalist Nick Hirsts voice.
Overall, lacking a bit of heaviness for me but definitely a great band and the album should be one to watch out for.
