If you think punk rock never died, but it was just hiding beneath the ultra glossed pin-up kids of today, then Mach Schau are here for you and you alone.
A three track demonstration of their high octane punk, Demonstration One doesn't really set the world on fire with its originality or distinguishing features, but that said, what they do, they don't half do well.
High-energy romps and big, brash chord thrashing make up 'Feel This Way' and the EPs closer, the amphetamine riddled 'She Said', however they break up the 100mph track listing with 'Shoot The Blues', an ill-advised jaunty pop/indie song, a million miles away from the spitting and snarling that surrounds it.
Their press release says that Mach Schau are "Southampton's finest punk rock and roll band", but for me, I'll wait until Demonstration 2 onwards. It's a worthy effort, and the potential is definitely there, but they just need a bit more time and a bit more focus, and they'll be on top of their game.
