In their biography, Irish four-piece Wilt claim to be the emo REM, although I see neither as valid comparisons in their latest record "Distortion", which is a roller coaster of Americanised rock highs and lows that fits in well with the current music industry trends. This is classic MTV2 country and I would bet an accompanying video is on regular circulation at MTV Towers.

Drop the fact that I really like this CD, and look at it critically. It is hard to avoid commenting on the blatant delivery of clichéd slow lulls that are verses and faster sing-along moments that are choruses; it is all crafted stuff, enough to capture my attention, but you will have heard it all before. Approach Wilt, who you may remember as Kerbdog, with a less cynical mind and I am sure you will enjoy the experience.
