Tompkins Square, from what I can gather, are a female vocalist and male guitarist playing to an overproduced backing track comprising of keyboards drums and pianos. As soon as the first track was on, one immediately thinks 80's. It seems that the vocalist (female) has a burning and uncontrollable urge and desire to sound like Madonna, as she tries hard to muddle her way throughout the 4 songs on this CD. As soon as I heard this, I honestly thought it was a Madonna bootleg fashioned up as Tompkins Square. The only shining light through this is the second track, which has a distorted guitar!

If you like a CD full of slushy ballads then this is the one to go for. It wouldn't be out of place on a cheesy American movie. You know the thing, boy meets girl and falls in love, la la la, same old thing. Next.
