Wings Of A Butterfly

This formulaic piece of Finnish Scandinavian rock metal offers precious little to tantalise the eardrums. The intro is promising with the guitar pricking out catchy riffs hooky enough to make you want to like the track... but seconds later as Ville enters into the equation with his unimpressively safe lyrics you know the song has already peaked. I must mention that I am a big fan of the meandering demi-Goths and would have loved nothing more than for the track to intensify my love and admiration for their music. Sadly, this isn't the case. Part of me feels as though they could write music like this in their sleep. It sounds too polished and although the overall sound they create undoubtedly falls into the same genre as their previous releases, it seems to lack any real edge. Big shot producers don't always know best it seems.

All in all: An easy listening, catchy, unremarkable track for the youth of America.
