Circle, Square, Triangle

By Test Icicles

I love hearing a song for the first time on the good ol' MTV2 and getting excited about it. It's reliably a tingly feeling that only comes around once every so often and should be embraced while you apprehensively wait for the credits to role to reveal the artist responsible. Oh, Testicles you say? Riiiiiiiiiight.

After some speedy research it was actually somewhere between childish and geniusly named Test Icicles that have decided to step up to the plate and be this month's new IT band. Or TI band if you will. The so and so on acid half hearted gesture is unfurled all too often but this single at least really does sound like Bloc Party on some kind of life affirming over the top musical trip. The ramshackle chorus of "We can do with some. more. noises" getting rammed in your head and twazzing around making an altogether glorious nuisance of itself being particularly insatiable. An odd Beastie Boys-esque rap linking the choruses and an altogether different and edgy dance rock sound, single Test Icicles out for not just possessing a juvenile/brilliant name but also a sound to match. Don't be fooled into thinking on album or live Test Icicles are quite as overwhelming as the first time you heard this but as a stand alone single - 'Circle Square Triangle' is up there with the best this year.

Having a hit does not equal 'good song'. That's pretty obvious really.

does that mean you could do better or not???????

How can you measure something unmeasureable? It's got nothing to do with how good a song writer I may or may not be, which of course is completely subjective anyway.

I think Test Icicles are a load of trendy crap, you think they're good.

Your point is completely irrelevant and so is the band we're talking about (to me).

You wouldn't like me really if you met me. Did you see me on Johnathan Ross? I don't get on with people.

It's not a bad song but there are 100 bands all playing exactly the same song and getting signed and being bummed by the NME at the moment.

It is rather boring.
