Sounding like a gospel version of Grandaddy vs The Mull Historical Society vs The kids from fame, this is truly bemusing stuff. I don't know whether to embrace it or hide from it and all 23+ white robed band members. Yes that's 23! You feel like you've just staggered into a Texas cult meeting and any minute one of the chorus members will turn to you and say "You don't sing like someone from round here boy!". They look like the baptism scene in "O brother where art thou!" and provide that same peculiar eye-rubbing sensation. This one song promo is only a brief glimpse into their sound and is enough to reveal a sweet pop song played with an orchestral backing. This mass brainchild of former Tripping Daisy main man Tim Delaughter is a rare sanctuary in the current sea of mass produced pop drivel and formulaic emo-guitar trumpers. Don the robe, play the CD, sing hosanna and be glad they don't all live next door!
