The artwork pasted on the Whispers/Missing CD cover imitates, in nearly bad taste, a child runaway poster. In truth it's two tracks of sumptuous studio production on a death by chocolate milkshake of a voice.
Akayzia Parker is in someone's very good books. She's gigging with Marianne Faithful this weekend, and her mailing list insert goes back to that customer care centre in Leamington Spa where the stars all pretend to keep in close touch with their fanbase (don't write to me, just give me your demographics, OK?).
The two songs on my promo version of the restricted availability EP are mellow seductive and very convincing. No surprises, no risks, nothing memorable. Just very good and utterly disposable. I've disposed of them and will certainly never play them again. If you love your Cadbury's and think that James Bond is sophisticated entertainment for adults, this record is for you. But she can sing. Expect to see her with Jools Holland soon.
