Biography
Maelkar were a band based in Nottingham, UK and Leeds, UK in 2000. They described themselves on their MySpace page as a "fierce sounding guitar slaughtering 3-piece". They have played at venues including Rock City, Junktion 7, The Old Angel and The Social (now renamed The Bodega Social Club).
The lineup included: Micheal Weather on vocals and guitar, Dominic Deane on drums and Arran Thorpe on bass and vocals.
Listed among the band's influences were At the Drive In, Queen, Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, Deep Purple, EElS, Ben Folds Five, CrashLand, My vitriol, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Aerogramme, Hives and 3 stages of pain.
They produced a few EPs on Nottingham indie label 'Gag records', including one named 'Dresden Fire Fight' . They also produces a mini album named 'The evils of mass immigration'.
