Why Can't I Be You?

By Shed Seven

After playing a weekend of gigs at Fibber's those stalwarts of various York bars are back with a new single. It's got a similar beat to "Disco Down", the kind of swaggering rhythm and pop/rock guitar we've come to expect from the Sheds. The boys may have dropped out of the limelight in recent years but they maintain a hardcore live following. Sure the singles from "A Maximum High" were so good they were bound to create longevity but these Minstermen still have an ear for a pop song. Rick Witter is as passionate as ever, his voice sometimes spitting with vehemence but always giving the tunes the extra edge that some bands lack. It's one that's sure to get the dance floor filled at Think Tank and other similar indie clubs across the land.

With a live version of "On Standby" thrown in for good measure this should please old fans and convert new ones.
