Growing On Me

By The Darkness

The coolest and at the same time most disturbing CD cover I've seen in a while contains a gem of a rock track. Unashamed and unabashed The Darkness are good oldfashioned balls out cock rock. The chunky guitar riffs and open hi hat drums pulsate beneath Justin Hawkins' howling vocals and the layered harmonies. The opening guitar line grabs hold of your mullet and from on in there is no escape. The melodies are sublime, the bridge awesome "I'm being punished for all my offences, I wanna touch you but I'm afraid of the consequences". So 80's but so ace.

It's a tune that defies you not to nod your head, clench your fist and extend your index and little fingers. Air guitars at the ready, The Darkness are about to rock your world.
